In an effort by certain segments of the industry to promote self regulation, Domain Name Systems, Inc., has designed a new private Top Level Domain consisting of .xxx and .sex extentions.

Recent efforts by individuals and companies to incorporate a new tld designed for the adult industry have not proven to be effective, and given the desire by the adult industry to accomodate parental controls into the adult industry, this new top level domain was designed.

In addition, Icann has rejected a recent proposal to incorporate the .xxx and .sex extentions into its recent expansion of the TLD name space. Given their rejection and lack of desire to create and incorporate these TLD's into the name space, Domain Name Systems went ahead with their plans to implement the alternate registry.

The registry sites will only be accessable from behind an Adult Verification System (AVS), http://www.avslive.com and will require a monthly subscription for access to the adult material, with a one time software download for the term of the membership.

Not only does this system provide for a mechanism to shield children from a significant portion of the adult material available on the web, it also provides the basis and footprints for political resolution to the rampant wide open availability on the internet of adult materials, without direct government involvement. Use of this system can also assist in reducing some of the fraudulent practices some segments of the market have been implementing in the past.

Monthly subscription rates for the general sites, are USD $29.95 per month, based on credit card access. European and other areas of the world will have access to a telephone billing system, offering low rates averaging .50 USD per minute with an upper monthly cap of the equivalent of USD $29.95. Some areas may vary dependant upon telco charges, however the intent is to ensure fair access prices.

Domain Name Systems, Inc., through it's DomainNameSystems.com web site, is an authorized Nominet UK tag holder, as well as a .com registrar through the Tucows Open SRS network. An application for Icann accreditation is pending.
